Windows XP SP2 Won't Install on Pirated CopiesWindows XP SP2 Won't Install on Pirated Copies

Seems Microsoft are now back tracking on what Microsoft group product manager Barry Goffe said earlier in an interview with Computer Times!

Microsoft has decided to make its Service Pack 2 patch available to users of all Windows XP versions - licensed and pirated.

Contrary to the remarks it made to the ComputerTimes, Microsoft now claims that it will not permit users who have obtained Windows XP illegally to upgrade to its latest service release. Instead, the software giant will continue to enforce compliance with its licensing.

Thermaltake TrueLight Heat SpreaderThermaltake TrueLight Heat Spreader

At the start of new millennium, Thermaltake Technology announced the world?s first memory cooling kit available to public. The aluminum memory cooling kit made a huge impact on the overclocking community as it was able to keep the memory temperature lower and allowing higher overclock.

Today Thermaltake released their latest memory cooling kits, TrueLight Heat Spreader. TrueLight Heat Spreader is a completely redesigned memory cooling module as it incorporates a much more user friendly clip for securing the kit onto memory sticks. Larger aluminum surface area allows heat to be absorbed and dissipated much more efficiently.

The most noticeable feature found on the latest TrueLight Heat Spreader is its built-in LEDs. A total of 5 Blue LEDs are controlled using the included PCI Controller. Microprocessor built onto the PCI Controller enables the users to control the flash modes which the LEDs are flashed.

?With the release of TrueLight, not only will users benefit from its exceptional cooling capability, but it is also a great addition to the aesthetic side as well? commented Flora Chen, Marketing Manager at Thermaltake.

Ruby Demo Wrapper AppearsRuby Demo Wrapper Appears

Want to run ATi's latest Demo Ruby for the Radeon X800 on your 9700 Pro or 9800 series card! then head this way to Beyond3D's Forum! Thanks to Colourless.

It's not quite right (shader on her face is too dark among other things) yet, but it kind of works. It's also 'really' slow for me. Mostly caused by oh so much ram paging... ow, this thing likes a LOT of memory (especially since I have to make it use the Managed pool for textures instead of the Default pool).

ATI to promote 9100 PRO IGP chipset with aggressive pricingATI to promote 9100 PRO IGP chipset with aggressive pricing

ATI Technologies has adopted aggressive pricing to promote its new integrated graphics solution, the Radeon 9100 PRO IGP (RS350) chipset, according to sources at Taiwanese motherboard makers. The RS350, which was officially launched in Barcelona, Spain on May 5, will be priced at the same level as its predecessor, the Radeon 9100 IGP, the sources said. Although the RS350 is capable of supporting both Socket 478 and LGA 775 Pentium 4 processors, local makers said that their motherboards, built using the 9100 PRO IPG, will initially only support Socket 478 processors. The Radeon 9100 PRO IGP, which doesn?t support PCI Express technology, will be available in late May or early June, the sources said.

ATI?s new integrated graphics chipset that will offer support for PCI Express, the RS400, is expected to hit the market in the mid-third quarter, said the sources. In related news, local makers said that ATI?s new graphics chip, the Radeon X800 PRO, will not be available through retailers till the end of May, instead of immediately, as some sources have suggested.

ATi releases RADEON X800, world's fastest visual processorATi releases RADEON X800, world's fastest visual processor

To the delight of gamers everywhere, ATI Technologies Inc. today launched its RADEON? X800 Visual Processing Unit (VPU) which will deliver the industry?s most awesome gaming experience possible on a PC. With the introduction of the RADEON X800, ATI continues its two year reign as the industry leader in high-end graphics for gaming and ushers in a new era, High Definition Gaming. Worldwide system integrators, original equipment manufacturers and board partners are excited to deliver RADEON X800 powered systems and boards beginning immediately.

Gamers using computers powered by RADEON X800 will enjoy a higher performance, immersive gaming experience that looks better than ever before. This High Definition Gaming experience is the PC equivalent to watching a sporting event on an HDTV. This is made possible by the highly scalable and efficient architecture of the RADEON X800 that uses 16 parallel pixel pipes and 6 vertex pipes to process more than 8 billion pixels and almost 800 million vertices per second.

?The RADEON X800 builds on the great success of the RADEON 9700 and RADEON 9800, the most sought-after high-end visual processors in the world," said Rick Bergman, Senior Vice President Marketing, General Manager, Desktop, ATI Technologies Inc. ?With the RADEON X800, the design team has accomplished something that no one thought was possible. Not only have they developed the highest-performing and most efficient graphics architecture in the world, they have done so while maintaining high levels of stability, reliability and manufacturability.?

ATI has used the most advanced technologies available to design and manufacture its new RADEON X800 graphics chips. Using the successful low k .13 micron semiconductor process from Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd., ATI created a scalable, highly parallel and powerful visual processor that is twice as fast as today?s performance leader, the RADEON? 9800 XT. The advanced fabrication process and leading-edge GDDR3 memory have also enabled ATI and its board partners to deliver high-performance, user-friendly graphics card solutions which will work in customer?s existing PCs without requiring radical and costly power supply or cooling upgrades.
